Role Purpose/Business Unit:

 

To analyse network performance, customer experience, and competitive benchmark information through the collection, integration, and interpretation of data from network systems, drive tests, crowdsource platforms, and external benchmarking programmes. The Network Analyst supports the identification of network performance gaps, emerging customer experience trends, and improvement opportunities by translating complex datasets into actionable insights and recommendations.

 

The role is responsible for developing reports, dashboards, and performance analyses for operational, regional, and cross-functional stakeholders, while supporting network optimisation, service assurance, and quality improvement initiatives. The incumbent contributes to process automation, analytics enhancement, and data-driven decision-making to improve network quality, competitive positioning, and overall customer experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Analyse mobile network performance by collecting, validating, and interpreting data from drive tests, crowdsource platforms, OSS systems, and customer experience tools.
  • Conduct competitive benchmarking across mobile operators to assess Vodacom's market position and identify performance gaps, strengths, and improvement opportunities.
  • Monitor customer experience performance through NPS, CEM, probing systems, and simulated customer experience measurements to identify service quality issues and trends.
  • Identify and recommend remedial actions to address network performance deficiencies and customer experience challenges, working closely with relevant technology teams.
  • Support the planning, execution, and quality management of benchmarking and drive testing programmes to ensure accurate data collection and timely delivery.
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualisations that provide actionable insights to Technology, Commercial, and Vodafone Group stakeholders.
  • Track and report on network improvement initiatives, measuring the effectiveness of optimisation activities and the closure of identified performance gaps.
  • Manage third-party suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to SLAs, delivery timelines, quality standards, and contractual obligations.
  • Drive data quality, governance, and process automation to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and consistency of analytical and reporting activities. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including RAN, Core, Transmission, Service Assurance, and Customer Experience functions to support data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement of network quality.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

 

  • 2-3 years of mobile network experience, or successful completion of internship or graduate program.
  • 3-year Degree/ Diploma, or equivalent.
  • Field of study in Electrical/ Electronics/ Computer Science/ Information Technology, or equivalent engineering/ technical qualifications.

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

 

  • Comprehensive understating of basic drive test KPIs, experience in radio access networks technologies, 2G, 3G, LTE and NR/5G.
  • Basic to intermediate programming and analytics skills, preferably using current widely adopted tools and languages for coding, automation, data analysis and visualisation.
  • Comprehensive understanding of different Benchmarking and crowdsource methodologies, especially Vodafone and global benchmarking framework, track yearly changes and communicate these timeously to the organization.
  • Ability to use network analytics from multiple data sources, e.g., Drive Test log files, My Broad band reports, Face book insights, Open signal / Umlaut Crowd Data source, OSS stats on Sonar and NNPS and CEM insights, to turn around network performance.
  • Data correlation, analytics, and visualization on GIS tools and on SONAR analysis tool.
  • Use Drive Test, Crowd source and Brand NPS Data to support marketing teams in creating Brand Claims messaging. 
  • Good exposure in different data collection and post processing tools understanding advantages and limitations of tools such as SwissQual, NEMO, TEMS, AZENQOS, etc.
