Role Purpose/Business Unit:

 

To ensure that key financial and business objectives of the VodaPay business vertical within Vodacom Payment Services are met with regards to internal controls, reconciliations, financial reporting, and analysis. Provide support to the Commercial, Operational and IT teams regarding the processes and controls required from a financial perspective. 

 

Your responsibilities will include:

Process and controls:

  • Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations and reporting are performed for Vodapay products
  • Ensure that invoicing, payments, refunds, chargebacks are correct, and the allocation thereof is correct in the accounting records
  • Capture signed off/approved reconciliations on to SAP for payment via MJUT
  • Read and provide feedback on all relevant Business Requirement Specification documents from Business Analysts to ensure FinOps requirements are covered
  • Partner with Financial services and FBP departments to ensure that VSA and Vodafone Policies as well as internal audit requirements are followed and where applicable policies implemented in the VFS business unit
  • Be involved in the development and flow of processes from QA to Production

 

Reconciliations:

  • Track daily transactional reports and reconcile to bank statements;
  • Perform daily/weekly/monthly reconciliations required for VodaPay products.  
  • Assist in all relevant business reconciliations between various systems used across the business
  • Resolution of queries from business and month-end processing

 

Reporting

  • Ensure that business requirements are implemented and accounted for correctly in the system, including liaising with the commercial business team, business analysts, IT (Scrum Master) and Quality Assurance
  • Review reports accuracy and alignment with expectations based on business knowledge, also to ensure reporting has adequate information for financial recording and review purposes
  • Ensure that processes/costs are in line with the approved business case
  • Ad-hoc reporting requirements

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

 

  • Bachelor of Commerce degree (desirable) 
  • Minimum 3-5 years financial experience - essential
  • Payments/Financial Services industry knowledge - advantageous
  • Previous ICT (Information and Communications Technology) industries experience – advantageous
