Role Purpose:

 

The purpose of the role is to provide dedicated financial planning, analysis, and business partnering support for Vodacom Business’s Beyond Mobile Portfolio Internet of Things (IOT) Solutions. The role will support strategic decision-making, performance management, and financial reporting, ensuring alignment with Vodacom’s growth objectives. The Specialist will report into the Principal Specialist Finance Business Partner for IOT and collaborate closely with product, commercial, and technology teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

 

Financial Planning & Forecasting:

  • Develop and continually improve budgeting, financial projections, and operating forecast.
  • Support medium- and long-term financial planning aligned to strategic goals.


Performance Management & Reporting:

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports with insights on revenue, costs, and profitability.
  • Track KPIs and provide variance analysis with actionable recommendations.
  • Subsidiary (Xlink, Mezzanine, Nexio & IOT.Nxt) support and reporting: Track and reviewing monthly performance. Support with Budget process and ensure accuracy of forecasting.


Business Partnering:

  • Collaborate with product and commercial teams to evaluate business cases, pricing strategies, and investment decisions.
  • Provide financial input into go-to-market strategies and product lifecycle management.


Opex & Capex Management:

  • Ensure accurate reporting of VB Opex and guide the business towards the achievement of Opex targets through budgetary controls and the delivery of
  • Opex productivity initiatives. Partner with the business in reviewing operations and recommending new productivity or cost-saving initiatives
  • Support CAPEX prioritization and post-investment reviews for technology-related spend.


Month-End Close Support:

  • Ensure accurate and timely financial close processes in collaboration with Finance Operations.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Postgraduate or professional qualification (e.g. CIMA, CA(SA), MBA) preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in finance.
  • At least 2 years in a Finance Business Partnering or financial reporting role.
  • Experience in technology, telecommunications, or digital services is advantageous.
  • SAICA articles or similar experience is a plus

 

Job-Related Skills:

  • Strong financial modelling and reporting skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment.
