Role Purpose/Business Unit:

 

The Contract Manager will be primarily responsible for managing all contracts being negotiated and entered into by the company. The incumbent needs to be knowledgeable about the details and potential benefits of any contract. 

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Must be able to draft, evaluate, negotiate, and execute a wide variety of technology commercial contracts covering a range of transactions.
  • Drafting of Legal precedents which includes but is not limited to, Addendums, Legal Notices, Memorandum of Understanding, Master Procurement Agreements, Data Protection Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements.
  • Maintain records for correspondence and documentation in relation to established contracts and those in progress.
  • Communicate and present information to stakeholders about all contract-related matters.
  • Must have category Management experience, In areas such as Software, hardware, Managed Services, Network, Direct Expenditure across all categories.
  • Manages local & regional relationships with key category suppliers and where required leads local & regional relationships across categories.
  • The above responsibilities will include the following areas under VB: Enterprise Business (All LOB’s), Vodacom Subsidiaries (i.e. Nexio, IOT.nxt, XLink, Mezanine, Afrigis etc.), and Bid office.
  • Budget holders, supplier and third parties: Leads negotiation and conclude contracts with suppliers on local agreements working with/without Legal and internal stakeholders to ensure business requirements are met.
  • Leadership and teamwork: Responsible for ensuring budget holders requirements are defined and reflected in the Category Strategy and related contracts.
  • Innovation and change: Provides input into defining innovative local category strategies.
  • Drive digitisation in SCM Enterprise Business. 

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

 

  • 3 Year relevant degree/diploma in Supply Chain Management / Bachelor of Laws Degree or Bcom Law.
  • Commercial contract management knowledge.
  • Commercial and Contract law experience.
  • Experience in the Telecoms or IT industry.

Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:

 

  • Demonstrable commercial, negotiation and commercial legal skills without supervision.
  • Ability to develop and maintain working relationships with Exco members.
  • Procurement, Negotiation, Financial Management.
  • Supplier performance management.
  • Quick delivery and lead to deliver professional accurate contracts and or RFXX outputs.
