Role Purpose/Business Unit:

 

This roles resides within the Vodacom Talent Capability and Skills Transformation area. 


This CoE is responsible for:

  1. Setting Vodacom’s talent and performance management strategy and assist in evolving the talent and performance framework/tools and processes; 
  2. Having a dedicated, global focus on the end-to-end talent and performance lifecycles for Vodacom
  3. Participate in setting the global minimum assessment standards and providing associated tools for selection and development, ensuring inclusive and effective assessment practices. 


The Talent and Performance lead is a key role responsible for ensuring data driven talent and performance decision making and that core, high profile talent and performance processes run smoothly. It reports into the EHOD: Talent Capability and Skills Transformation
 

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Partner with Market Talent Leads to support them in defining a talent strategy for the Market, which is aligned to the Vodacom/ Vodafone strategy. 
  • Work closely with Vodafone Talent and Performance Management teams to ensure that Vodacom stays aligned with Vodafone practices
  • Hold regular community calls with the Markets to ensure that they stay abreast of any changes in the Talent and Performance domains
  • Develop a Vodacom Africa Talent and Performance communications plan, which is aligned with the Vodafone communications plan and share with markets
  • Run capability build sessions with the Market Talent and Performance Leads
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to ensure the buy strategy is fully integrated into overall talent strategy 
  • Develop talent mobility strategies that will enable flexibility of talent movement across the Vodacom Markets
  • Develop talent mobility framework and governance, which is aligned to the Vodafone strategy
  • Work closely with Emerging Youth Talent to ensure that pipeline is aligned to organization’s TechCo transformation 
  • Partner with Market Talent Leads to ensure that there is clear succession planning for all scarce and critical roles 
  • Develop Specialists Career Paths 
  • Develop performance management framework (minimum standards) – Drive high performance culture
  • Drive implementation of key initiatives and programs within the Talent space
  • Partner with Rewards to develop retention strategy / framework for talent
  • Support EHOD Talent and Capability with Talent Reviews and Performance Calibrations across the Markets
  • Provide data analytics and insights to enable organisation to make informed Talent decisions

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

 

  • A degree/3-year diploma (e.g. Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Business Management, etc.) - essential 
  • A post-graduate qualification will be advantageous 
  • Demonstrated 8+ years' experience working in HR in Talent and Performance Management


Core competencies, knowledge and experience :

  • Experience in talent and performance management, facilitating Talent Reviews, Performance Calibration, succession planning, etc.
  • Knowledge of best talent and performance management practices 
  • High level of commercial acumen and business knowledge
  • Proven ability to challenge and influence senior stakeholders
  • Strategic thinking and decision making
  • Project management skills
  • Exposure to Talent Assessment tools
  • Expertise in data reporting and analysis  
  • Experience and exposure to Talent Forums and Talent exchange initiatives at C-Suite 
  • Work under pressure and meet deadlines 
  • Highly discrete, as will be dealing with highly confidential data 
  • Experience and exposure to Talent reporting tools and insights
