Role Purpose/Business Unit:

 

Oversee and manage the end-to-end network performance, radio planning, and optimisation functions. This role ensures efficient network operations, quality management, and strategic planning to meet the company's network 
performance standards and customer satisfaction goals.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

Oversee network planning, quality expertise, coverage analysis, and capacity management to ensure efficient network operations and performance
Planning and implementation of nominal plans into executable new coverage plans. Capacity rollout; management and rollout of new capacity as per company strategy and congestion targets
Technology Migration as per engineering guidelines and best practice
RF Cluster Optimisation, New Site / New Layer Integration
CBU Customer Assurance (indoor/outdoor coverage; capacity; performance) diagnosis and support
In support of Customer Experience, Capacity requirements, Best Network ambitions, Interference 
Mitigation (including inter-operator, Technology evolution strategy
Manage and prioritise data traffic, ensuring critical applications receive the necessary resources for optimal performance.
Execute ad-hoc drive test to support ongoing feature and parameter trials
Facilitate timely implementation of all mandatory parameter strategies, baseline configuration alignments following standard CRQ procedures.
Manage continuous improvements of voice and data traffic, services indicators, by ensuring that critical improvements plans receive the necessary resources and support across the value chain.
Craft and execute plans to improve customer experience and network performance.
Ensure regional green plans are aligned to Technology Business Unit priorities. 
Customer Experience with Network Benchmarking Fix all hot spots location in line with basic or advanced remedial principles.
Improve coverage, signal quality, and network load condition in all areas identified from crowdsource and or CEM analytics.
Ensure both businesses as usual (BAU) plan addresses critical performance gaps as identified in the crowd 
Contribute to the strategic planning and development of the network's future direction, ensuring it evolves to meet future demands and remains competitive.
Lead and manage a team from the End-to-End function as well as Radio Planning and Optimisation

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

 

8 year or more years’ experience in the telecommunications or technology related environments e.g. (ICT) with demonstrated experience
Extensive experience in network planning, optimisation, and performance management.
Proven track record of managing and leading a team in a similar role.
Strong technical background in radio and transmission systems.
Matric is essential.
3 year Electrical Engineering/relevant
degree or equivalent qualification. 
Post graduate qualification is advantageous

Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:

 

Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of 
radio access network (RAN) and transmission systems, including RF optimisation, parameter tuning, and network upgrades.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse massive datasets to predict network demands, optimise resource allocation, and enhance network reliability.
Leadership: Strong leadership skills to manage and motivate a diverse team, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals.
Strategic Thinking: Ability to contribute to the strategic planning and development of the network's future direction.
Communication: Excellent communication skills to coordinate with various departments and ensure efficient network 
operations.
