What you’ll do

As a Network Security Engineer you will be responsible for the overall High/Low Level Design and working configuration for the network security capabilities that support reliable and secure hosted and collaborative services across the whole Vodafone business, mainly focused Data Center and Office network environments. More specifically you will:

•    Drive increased quality of our network end to end
•    Provide HLDs, LLDs, define templates, modularize and industrialize configuration items and their implementation.
•    Deploy the network fit for purpose including understanding of how our services/applications layer will run across the network (capacity, capability, utilisation)
•    Harmonize office LAN services, enable seamless access over a converged wired/wireless network to global IT systems and provide guest services for external partner services as well as Third party connectivity
•    Implement Virtualisation and segregation concepts
•    Conduct proof of concept (POC) validation
•    Responsible for optimal implementation process that delivers ensured quality
•    Quality assurance in the design and implementation process
•    Responsible to ensure a network documentation
•    Responsible to ensure network harmonisation and standardization across the Region / the local market

Who you are

•    An academic degree and/or at least 3/5 years work experience in an IT organization supporting large heterogeneous IT infrastructures. 
•    Experiences in project management
•    Result-oriented and enjoy taking initiative as well as responsibility
•    Fluent English oral and written
•    Understanding of operational environments and delivery projects
•    Ability to work across multi-functional and cultural boundaries to deliver results/change
•    Familiarity with other engineering domains or teams involved in network security aspects such as OSS, IT and CSO departments 
•    Knowledge of Mobile Network Operator environment as well as 3GPP standard architectures
•    Strong experience in Python and GoLang, automation scripting, and automation frameworks
•    Designed, developed, and executed System Test documents (Test Strategy, Test setup, Test Report), test case documents
•    Expert Knowledge in networks (TCP/IP, Protocols, Structures, Hardware, Security)
•    Expert Knowledge in the area of the installation and configuration of network components (Routers, Firewalls)
•    Deep knowledge of IP networks security systems, with experience on the engineering and management of Firewalls, IDS/IPS, PKI, and content filtering platforms.
•    Expert Knowledge in security (Encryption, Authentication, Authorization, Accounting, 802.1x, PKI, certificates)
•    Knowledge in network management and network analysis
