Your day to day:

As an Application DBA, you will be an expert in all things SQL inside the software development team.

Our developers work in many programming languages, and you will closely collaborate with them to understand the business requirements of the developed applications.

You will shape the data model together and work in sync to produce and optimize the application's code that deals with the database.

The developers will rely on you for various database things like defining the entities and the relationships, validating operations, and optimizing queries. As the application grows, you will proactively identify bottlenecks, problems, and wrong directions, and suggest or directly produce improvements, to ensure that the database stays in top shape.

With these activities you will have a great impact on our business:

  • Evaluate business requirements and translate them into implementation details alongside the software development team
  • Design, create and optimize database entities and relationships
  • Write and/or optimize all the SQL code (DDL & DML)
  • Continuously monitor the database contents and health
  • Proactively improve the database.

With these skills you are a great candidate:

  • Expertise in all things SQL
  • Expertise in database design and working with complex business requirements
  • Beginner-to-medium knowledge of any programming language (Python, PHP, JavaScript, C, etc) and core programming concepts
  • Analytical skills and working alongside development teams in multiple programming languages
  • Excellent communication skills
