Your day to day:

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to ensure the functionality, security, and performance of our database systems.

In this role, you will lead by example in providing expert-level guidance, managing database performance, and automating recurring tasks through scripting.

You’ll also liaise with clients to provide tailored solutions, ensuring the database infrastructure meets business needs and exceeds service-level expectations.

This position requires a strong focus on Oracle database administration, including advanced knowledge of Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and performance tuning, as well as experience with other database technologies.

With these activities you will have a great impact on our business:

Database Administration:

  • Administer Oracle databases, including installation, configuration, upgrades, and patch management.
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of database infrastructure.
  • Optimize database architecture to meet evolving business requirements.

Performance Tuning & Issue Resolution:

  • Proactively monitor and address performance issues using advanced SQL tuning and database optimization techniques.
  • Investigate and resolve complex incidents, providing L1-L4 support for database-related problems.

Automation & Scripting:

  • Develop and maintain scripts in SQL, PL/SQL, Bash, Python, and similar languages to automate database tasks and recurring activities.

Technical Leadership:

  • Provide expert-level guidance on database configurations, upgrades, and maintenance.

With these skills you are a great candidate:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in database administration, with a strong focus on Oracle databases.
  • Advanced knowledge of Oracle RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, Grid/Cloud Control, Datapump, and related technologies.
  • Expertise in SQL tuning and database optimization in production environments.
  • Solid understanding of ITIL practices and IT Service Management concepts.
  • Familiarity with SOX and general security principles.
  • Proficiency in Unix/Linux systems.
  • Strong documentation, problem-solving, and project management skills
  • Experience with Cassandra/MongoDB administration.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server database administration.
  • Understanding of ISO20000 standards.
