Purpose of the role: To lead the monitoring of operational controls, implement and manage advanced security controls, and apply lessons learned to protect from potential cyber-attacks and respond to threats.
What you’ll do
Accountabilities:
- Lead the management of security monitoring systems, including intrusion prevention and detection systems, to alert, detect, and block potential cyber security incidents.
- Proactively identify emerging cyber security threats, attack techniques, and technologies to detect/prevent incidents.
- Oversee the management and analysis of security information and event management systems to collect, correlate, and analyze security logs, events, and alerts/potential threats.
- Lead the triage and investigation of data loss prevention alerts to identify and prevent sensitive data from being exfiltrated from the network.
- Manage and coordinate the response to cyber security incidents, including remediation and driving to closure.
Analyst Expectations:
- Perform and oversee prescribed activities in a timely manner and to a high standard, consistently driving continuous improvement.
- Develop and share technical expertise in the work area, acting as an advisor and mentor where appropriate.
- Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work you own or contribute to.
Who you are
To be successful as a DLP Senior Analyst, you should have experience with:
- Advanced analytical and investigative skills.
- High proficiency in DLP operations and technologies in a large and complex computing environment.
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
- Strong ability to prioritize workload and understand when to escalate to management.
- Ability to work independently and remotely from direct line management.
Some other highly valued skills may include:
- In-depth understanding of data leakage threats and mitigations.
- Ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Extensive experience with electronic communications such as email and internet.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Advanced knowledge of security frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
- Proficiency with DLP tools and technologies (e.g., Symantec, McAfee, Sentinel).
- Strong understanding of network security principles and practices.
- Relevant certifications such as CISM, CEH, CCNA, ECIH, etc.
