About this Role

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Database Integration Engineer to join our Software & Product Infrastructure team in Bucharest. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the functionality, performance, and optimisation of database systems. You will contribute to the full lifecycle of IT projects, from gathering technical requirements to implementing and maintaining robust database solutions. This position involves hands-on development, incident resolution, and participation in transformation and technology refresh initiatives.

What you will do

  • Participate in all phases of IT projects, contributing to the implementation of new software solutions.
  • Collect, transform, and aggregate data from private or public cloud environments using SQL and PL/SQL.
  • Define technical requirements and evaluate IT solutions for suitability.
  • Develop scripts and programmes to support IT projects and automate operational activities.
  • Design, configure, and implement database components within IT applications and platforms.
  • Optimise existing database architectures to enhance efficiency and meet evolving business needs.
  • Provide active support for transformation and technology refresh projects aimed at improving service availability and performance.
  • Conduct technical investigations and root cause analysis for critical incidents, proposing effective resolutions.
  • Perform proactive maintenance activities using automated tools, alerts, and notifications.
  • Contribute to proof-of-concept evaluations for new technologies and applications.
  • Participate in on-call and shift-based support services, including availability for exceptional situations such as night shifts or overtime.
  • Design and modify database structures using relational database management systems.
  • Deliver SQL/PLSQL programmes, automation scripts, and database configuration procedures aligned with customer requirements.

Who you are

  • A professional with at least 1 year of experience in database development.
  • Proficient in database programming within production environments, including Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL, Sybase ASE/IQ, and open-source databases.
  • Skilled in PL/SQL and UNIX/Linux shell scripting.
  • Experienced in SQL tuning and familiar with tools such as Oracle RAC, Data Guard, GRID/Cloud Control, RMAN, Datapump, Goldengate, and Shareplex.
  • Knowledgeable in ITIL, IT Service Management (e.g., ISO20000), and SOX compliance principles.
  • Demonstrates strong documentation, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
  • Able to manage multiple requests effectively and deliver results under pressure.
  • Comfortable working in distributed and remote teams with a customer-centric approach.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
