Your day to day:

This role is key for the success of DevOps across Infrastructure Management, by supporting, creating and maintaining software products for ensuring the functionality and performance of the database systems, providing support and working toward solving incidents/doing current tasks/solving issues and problems with the purpose of ensuring agreed SLA

With these activities you will have a great impact on our business:

  • Develop software/programs/scripts for extending functionality of IT solutions or for automating recurring activities using CI/CD and Agile principles and methodologies, optimize the existing solutions by redefining database architecture or by making software upgrades to increase efficiency and to meet the new requirements of the business.
  • Provides Level2 support and offers support to Level1 support teams for Databases and related incidents/ problems, in shifts or overtime and performs stand-by. 
  • Provide active support for transformation programs and other technology refresh programs that are designed to ensure/increase service availability and reduce downtime and increases the quality / performance of these services and perform proactive maintenance activities by developing the necessary software tools and scripts and analysing the collected information and implementing the relevant changes in the monitored software solutions.
  • Make software technical investigations for performance incidents and examines issues arising to determine the causes and provide/propose solutions to solve the identified problems.
  • Provides support for implementing projects at high quality and efficiency standards

With these skills you are a great candidate:

  • Good operational knowledge, able to debug, troubleshoot issues on database and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience in supporting Databases> 2 years.
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines for execution, knowledge of Agile methodology.
  • Good communication and documentation capabilities
  • English (written and spoken)

Must have technical / professional qualifications:

  • Knowledge of database administration in a production environment for at least one of the following technologies Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB, Apache Cassandra, Microsoft Sql Server or Sybase.
  • Knowledge any of programming in PL/SQL, shell UNIX/Linux, Python is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Oracle RAC technology, Data Guard, ASM, RMAN, DataPump and so on.
  • Knowledge of Cloud technologies OCI
  • Knowledge of general security principles and SOX
