We work with customers across 28 countries from 10 VOIS locations: Albania, Egypt, Hungary, India, Romania, Spain, Turkey, UK, Germany, Ireland, and with a network of teams in Czech Republic, Italy, Greece, and Portugal.
About this Role
We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our Cloud & Infrastructure team in Bucharest. This role is focused on deploying, maintaining, and enhancing infrastructure for Vodafone’s cloud and on-premises applications. The individual will provide technical support, collaborate with development teams, and offer DevOps consulting for future application improvements. The position requires hands-on experience with cloud platforms, Kubernetes, scripting, and modern CI/CD and observability tools.
What you will do
- Maintain Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), including Kubernetes and microservice resources.
- Manage classic RedHat virtual machine environments.
- Oversee microservice deployments and provide technical support for troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure application stability and resolve incidents.
- Evaluate current infrastructure and recommend performance or cost optimisation strategies.
- Deploy and configure cloud infrastructure and microservice components to support new features.
- Mentor Dev and DevOps teams on infrastructure automation best practices.
Who you are
- A professional with a degree in IT and at least 5 years of experience in Dev/DevOps environments or 7 years in enterprise IT.
- Experienced in public cloud infrastructure (OCI, AWS, Azure) and managing business-critical environments.
- Skilled in scripting languages such as Bash and Python.
- Proficient in CI/CD tools including Git, GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, ArgoCD, and FluxCD.
- Familiar with microservices architecture and container orchestration using Kubernetes.
- Knowledgeable in NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis) and Linux system administration.
- Experienced with monitoring and observability tools such as Instana, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Dynatrace, and DataDog.
- Comfortable working with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
- Strong documentation and communication skills in English.
- Adaptable to ITIL, SOX, and security regulations.
