About this Role

We are seeking an IoT 2nd Line Operations Junior Engineer to support and enhance Vodafone’s IoT services for Automotive customers. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless transition from development to operations, and maintaining high service availability. The individual will be actively involved in resolving technical issues, automating processes, and optimising service delivery, while maintaining strong relationships with customer stakeholders. 

What you’ll do

  • Provide direct support and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve IoT services for Automotive customers.
  • Oversee solution transitions from development to operations through validation, testing, and implementation.
  • Ensure high service availability and develop automation scripts to optimise operational methods.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customer stakeholders by resolving technical issues impacting service delivery.
  • Address customer-raised issues and escalate to platform teams when necessary, ensuring resolution follow-up.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and repair actions during incidents, including vendor support escalation.
  • Perform proactive maintenance to prevent incidents and raise platform optimisation awareness.
  • Modify and adapt existing software solutions to enhance performance and customer experience.
  • Participate in internal and external training to continuously improve technical skills.
  • Perform and enhance daily health-checks for platforms and services.

Who you are

  • Strong understanding of ITIL principles.
  • Operational expertise in debugging and troubleshooting applications on Linux servers.
  • Familiarity with Vodafone IoT GDSP platform and services.
  • Basic proficiency in Unix scripting.
  • Foundational knowledge of APIs (SOAP and REST) and Microservices.
  • Basic understanding of Oracle Database SQL.
  • Awareness of IP Networking and Telecom protocols (SMPP, RADIUS/DIAMETER, SS7 signalling).
  • Experience working in a multinational environment (minimum 1 year).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English, both written and spoken.
