We are seeking a IoT Infrastructure Operations Engineer to support and enhance Vodafone’s IoT services for enterprise customers. This role involves transitioning solutions from development to operational cloud environments, ensuring high service availability, and driving automation and optimisation across AWS and GCP platforms. The individual will also contribute to incident management, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement of cloud-based applications and infrastructure.

What you’ll do

  • Collaborate with software developers to improve IoT services for enterprise clients.
  • Validate, test, and implement solutions in operational cloud environments.
  • Ensure high availability of services and develop automation scripts to optimise operations.
  • Implement changes and maintain software solutions, including documentation and configuration updates.
  • Contribute to planning and execution of production migration phases in AWS and GCP.
  • Update infrastructure code and automate deployments using AWS-native CI/CD tools and Terraform.
  • Modify existing software for enhanced performance and customer experience.
  • Manage incidents, problems, and service requests, including implementing workarounds.
  • Perform daily health checks and develop automation solutions for cloud platforms.
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd level technical support for cloud network applications and systems.
  • Identify and develop automation opportunities aligned with team needs.
  • Define service level agreements and key performance indicators.
  • Participate in project decision-making and agree on realistic deliverables.
  • Support team knowledge building and service improvement initiatives.
  • Revise technical and functional specifications for system modifications.
  • Deliver operational and technical feasibility assessments, including cost estimates.
  • Conduct impact analysis and implement technical solutions to resolve incidents and improve customer experience.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external partners to ensure SLA compliance and service improvements.

Who you are

  • Understanding of ITIL, DevOps principles, and Agile methodology.
  • Operational experience in debugging and troubleshooting on Linux servers.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with AWS, GCP, CI/CD (Jenkins), Git, and Terraform.
  • Basic knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, APIs, and Microservices within AWS.
  • Experience with SQL and non-SQL databases such as MongoDB, OracleDBs, and DWH.
  • Proficiency in scripting/programming languages: Bash, Perl, Python, Java.
  • Familiarity with Vodafone IoT GDSP platform and services.
  • Experience in a multinational environment.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills in English.
