Your day to Day

  • As a RAN Engineer within the Group Network department, you will be responsible for the testing, implementation, and development of software systems specific to the Radio Access Network (RAN) across mobile telecommunication technologies (2G/3G/4G). This includes BTS, BSC, RNC, and NodeBs. Your role will ensure that these systems meet the performance expectations of both internal and external stakeholders, including Vodafone operators across Europe.
    You will analyse, adapt, and harmonise technical solutions and configurations to meet real-world client requirements and introduce new functionalities to anticipate future needs. You will also define software specifications for KPI methodologies and determine network load thresholds for both internal departments and external Vodafone OpCos.

What you will do

  • Develop efficient software and hardware systems aligned with customer requirements.
  • Adapt and harmonise operating systems and software versions to meet evolving needs.
  • Create software specific to RAN for European operators using XML command lines.
  • Plan and execute implementation, testing, and operational verification of new software modules.
  • Resolve defects identified during testing phases.
  • Configure key parameters across all RAN technologies to optimise customer experience.
  • Define KPIs and methodologies for performance measurement and network load thresholds.
