What you’ll do
Supports the department's strategy and the business goals/needs of external clients by evaluating and implementing/modifying software functionalities in IT systems. Participates in the development of external clients' business requirements, analyzes and transforms these requirements into detailed technical specifications for the development of IT programs, participates in the design and/or modification of the software and/or hardware solution, participates in the development, testing and installation in production of the developed functionalities, provides support for the configuration of IT programs, ensures the maintenance of systems and IT programs. Finds, proposes and implements the appropriate solution for the customization, capacity increase / integration / introduction of a specific IT system based on the analysis of external clients' business requirements.
Main Responsibilities
As a Solution Designer, you’ll be the go-to expert for transforming business needs into smart, scalable IT solutions. You’ll lead the charge from concept to delivery, ensuring everything runs smoothly, efficiently, and with impact.
Your Mission
- Partner with external clients to gather requirements and turn functional specs into clear, actionable technical designs
- Own the end-to-end delivery of integration services—on time, on point, and on quality
- Validate scope, objectives, and effort estimates from development partners and ensure alignment
- Collaborate across technical teams to approve system solutions and support internal developers
- Ensure project delivery meets both business goals and operational standards
- Lead CSB actions and proactively flag risks for services needing updates or redesign
- Create and manage key project documentation—from technical specs to integration plans and RFPs
- Keep stakeholders informed of emerging risks and recommend mitigation strategies
- Work with infrastructure teams to optimize system performance based on business forecasts
- Identify and communicate potential risks across your systems
- Shape the IT development strategy by spotting outdated tech, capacity needs, and proposing upgrades aligned with Vodafone Global standards
- Innovate! Propose new services, prototypes, and system enhancements for external clients
- Keep the Service Catalog and Responsible Catalog up to date with hardware/software info
- Maintain the Initiatives Catalog and lead system update projects (e.g., WebLogic, Java, OS, DB versions)
- Present technical solutions to Testing and Operations teams and provide feedback on test plans
- Manage open design and production defects, propose fixes, and ensure timely delivery
- Support certifications, audits, and ad-hoc operational reporting
- Act as technical coordinator in complex projects—planning, organizing, and driving results
Who you are
Your Superpowers
- IT or technical degree that sets the foundation for your tech journey
- Solid grasp of modern web technologies, frameworks, and cloud services used in cutting-edge application development
- Deep understanding of design patterns and microservices architecture that drive performance and scalability
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken – you communicate with clarity and confidence
- Able to decode complex technical concepts and translate them into actionable insights
- Highly motivated, creative, and entrepreneurial – always looking for ways to improve and innovate
- Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with databases like Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server
- Solid foundation in development processes, best practices, and design principles
- Bonus points for knowledge in J2EE standards, API management, and data modeling
- Experience in system development, configuration, and installation is a plus
- Excellent communicator and collaborator – you build trust and drive results
- Results-driven, adaptable, and comfortable navigating ambiguity
- Decisive and influential – you guide decisions and shape outcomes
- Skilled in negotiation, coordination, and planning
- Experience in vendor/supplier management is a strong advantage
