About this Role
We are seeking a skilled and collaborative Team Leader for APEX Development to join our Cloud & Infrastructure Services department in Bucharest. This role involves coordinating technical activities of the DBA team, contributing to software development and delivery across the full lifecycle. The individual will lead by example in scripting, database programming, and solution implementation, while also supporting transformation initiatives and mentoring team members.
What you will do
- Coordinate technical activities of the DBA team, ensuring effective task distribution and performance reviews.
- Participate in all stages of IT projects, including requirement definition, solution evaluation, coding, and implementation.
- Develop scripts and programmes for automation and process optimisation.
- Design, configure, and implement database solutions aligned with business needs.
- Optimise existing database architectures to enhance performance and efficiency.
- Support transformation and technology refresh projects to improve service availability.
- Conduct technical investigations during critical incidents and implement remediation solutions.
- Perform proactive maintenance using automated tools and alerts.
- Evaluate new technologies and applications through Proof of Concept (PoC) activities.
- Participate in 24/7 on-call and shift-based support, including exceptional availability for night shifts and overtime.
- Deliver SQL/PLSQL programmes, automation scripts, and database upgrade procedures.
- Ensure high-quality documentation for internal processes and project frameworks.
Who you are
- A professional with over 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure administration.
- Proficient in database administration and programming in production environments (Oracle, APEX, MySQL, MS SQL, Sybase ASE/IQ).
- Skilled in PL/SQL, APEX, UNIX/Linux shell scripting, and advanced SQL tuning.
- Knowledgeable in Oracle technologies such as RAC, Data Guard, Grid/Cloud Control, RMAN, Datapump, GoldenGate, Shareplex.
- Familiar with ITIL, ISO 20000, SOX principles, and general security standards.
- Demonstrates strong documentation, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
- Experienced in project management and managing multiple requests under pressure.
- Fluent in English, with the ability to work effectively in distributed and remote teams.
- Possesses leadership qualities with a customer-focused and inclusive approach.
