About this Role

We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Engineer to join our 2nd Line Operations team within the Service Management & IT Ops department. Based in Bucharest, this role supports Vodafone DE by ensuring seamless transition of software and hardware solutions from development to operations. The individual will be responsible for validating, testing, implementing, and optimising automation scripts and software configurations. This is a hands-on technical role requiring strong problem-solving skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to work in a dynamic, multinational environment.

What you will do

  • Modify, adapt, and optimise software solutions to enhance performance and user experience.
  • Conduct end-to-end testing of system functionalities.
  • Review and implement technical and functional specifications for software and hardware adaptations.
  • Perform impact analysis and develop solutions to resolve incidents and complex technical issues.
  • Provide advanced technical support and incident resolution.
  • Create documentation and procedures for supported platforms.
  • Work outside normal hours when required, ensuring operational KPIs are met.
  • Deliver technical training sessions and maintain high standards of customer interaction aligned with Vodafone values.

Who you are

  • Educated in engineering disciplines such as automation, electronics, or communications.
  • Effective communicator with a customer-centric approach.
  • Experienced in programming (Python, PL-SQL, Bash scripting) and Java.
  • Skilled in Windows and Unix/Linux environments, including server configuration.
  • Knowledgeable in IP networking and communication protocols.
  • Proficient in problem-solving and detailed technical analysis.
  • Experienced in virtualisation technologies (e.g., VMWare), database administration (Microsoft SQL), and SSL certificate implementation.
  • Holds relevant certifications (e.g., LPIC, MCA/MCSD, CCNA, MTA, ITIL).
  • Fluent in English and familiar with multinational work environments.
