Application Developer Team Lead

 

Your role in a nutshell:

 

The purpose of the role is to develop and maintain, as part of an integrated team of developers and operational personnel the FINCA/FCH system built on Oracle/Apex to support finance clearing functions  in  business areas such as Roaming, Fixed Line, Internet of Things (M2M), Interconnection, Vodafone Messaging Hub (VMH) and other B2B services. This role will primarily entail development of software for new capabilities and project requirements and support for operations – investigating root causes of production issues, provide issue resolution and system fixes.

 

What you'll do in your role:

 

  • Technical Guidance and Mentoring: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to complete tasks. Conduct code reviews, offer feedback, and encourage best practices
  • Team Management and Motivation: Lead and motivate the team comprising of developers and Operations support analysts, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Encourage collaboration, recognize achievements, and address conflicts or issues promptly
  • Process Improvement and Quality Assurance*: Continuously assess and improve the development process, implementing changes to enhance efficiency, quality, and reliability. Ensure the team follows established processes and standards, and conduct regular retrospectives to identify areas for improvement
  • Understand the business requirement and translate it to small development team in technical terms to develop the fitting solution
  • Hands on Development of the system using PL-SQL, Apex and operations support as required

 

What you'll bring to the team:

 

  • Experience in leading IT Development and/or Operations 
  • Experience in internet technologies in the areas of web-based software development and programming mainly in Apex, SQL, PL/SQL, XML (desirable); Full stack development experience preferred.  
  • Experience in user management concepts 
  • Ability to work independently for all assigned responsibilities 
  • Essential – expertise in MS Office applications and working with large data sets. 
  • Understanding of project delivery and release management mechanisms. 
  • Business fluent English skills (spoken and written) are required
