Your place in the team
As Cloud Infrastructure Engineer for Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) we expect you to run data center lifecycle for Hungary and possible other markets, in accordance with Vodafone strategy and focused on Virtual/Containerized Network Functions (VNFs/CNFs) and Software Defined Network (SDN) needs. As a member of Network Virtualization Infrastructure (NVI) team, technology focus from design and best practices perspective will be:
•Virtualization and Cloud native platforms overall Infrastructure (IaaS) and Container (CaaS)
•VMWare Telco Cloud Platform components, namely: vCloud Director, vSphere, vRealize products (vRealize Operations, Orchestrator, Log inside and network inside), NSX-T, Telco Cloud Automation (TCA) and VMWare Tanzu Kuberneters Grid (TKG)
•IaaS and CaaS Hardware and software lifecycle management
•Infrastructure in general (hypervisor, computing, storage, Network - physical or virtual)
You will be involved in the following tasks
•Design and Delivery infrastructure solutions based on the technologies mentioned above, considering efficiency, security, resiliency and automation, aligned with the peculiarities of NFV workloads (low latency, high throughput and resilience).
•Engage with peers and Virtual Network Function (VNF) vendor during the development and implementation phase.
•Support on RFQs, definition of reference architectures, PoCs and FOAs by ensuring new Infrastructure capabilities evolution design.
•Run business cases to support NVI evolution.
•Work with Private and Public Cloud service providers to forecast and right-size long-term capacity and performance requirements, iterating regularly.
•Assure HW and SW Lifecycle management of the market(s) under his/her accountability.
•Prepare mid- and long-term financial planning activities (Network Evolution Plan and Short & Long Range Plan).
•Support capacity planning and its continuous monitoring.
We are looking for you if you have
•Data centre infrastructure, cloud computing and virtualization architectures
•Servers knowledge Dell, HPE
•VMware products knowledge: vSphere, vRealize products
•Networking knowledge Cisco or VmWare NSX
Good to have
•Understanding of automation and orchestration of infrastructure with VMWare vCloud NFV and Tanzu Kubernetes
•Any configuration management and automation tools such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible
•Orchestration and automation with vRealize Orchestrator, PowerCLI
•Public and private cloud IaaS and PaaS deployment models and technologies, e.g. Openstack, AWS
•Unix OS knowledge
•Basic Storage SAN, NFS and SDS
•Basic Security Concepts (authentication, certificates, LDAP)
•Experience in cloud and virtualization telco workload
•Basic core telco components (HLR, SMSC, etc)
Personal skills
•Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills (in English)
•Customer oriented and systematic way of working
•Ability to work across multi-functional and cultural boundaries to deliver results and change
•Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree or technical institute certificate in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field
