Role Purpose

A Power Senior Specialist with a strong Electrical and Mechanical engineering background required to manage generators & Hybrid power operation across Vodafone Egypt Sites. Manage resources and contractors to insure power generators power supply and stability across all of Egypt. Manage generators power efficiency & availability according to Vodafone Egypt power requirements and tight time plans. Insures generators maximum utilization and perform continuous power plans & changes to achieve the maximum power efficiency benefits. An excellent coordination and communication skills across internal and external entities to insure efficient & smooth Generator power supply and availability.

Key Accountabilities & Decision Ownership

New Generators Deployment

 

  • Forecast/order/deploy Generators for new rollout sites.
  • Manage & synchronize among, generator supplier, site management, transportation contractor, L1 contractor & site sharing team other operators MN or ET (if needed).

 

 

Power Cube/ Hybrid Deployment

 

  • Cooperate with NFM & rollout to work on sites that can accommodate PC. ( in regard to loads & foundation space).
  • Manage & synchronize among, generator supplier, site management, transportation contractor, L1 contractor & site sharing team other operators MN or ET (if needed). 
  • Support with technical issues regarding Level (1) maintenance and L(2) maintenance. 
  • Handle commissioning & Start-up
  • Vodafone Group alignment with power cube technology in operation and its applications.

 


Budget Control

 

  • Participate in Budget Forecasting& Planning.
  • Monitor, Control& Insure targets are achieved according to plans.

 


Rented Generators Replacement

  • Handle rented generators replacement  that are Considered extra Opex cost.
  • Update list of rented generators quarterly.
  • Manage & synchronize among site management,  Rented Contractor, transportation contractor, Handle L1 contractor&  site sharing team other operators OR or ET ( If needed).

 

Standby Generators Deployment

 

  • Coordinate with NFM to support the most critical sites with commercial power failure and &revenue loses.
  • Manage & synchronize among generator supplier, site management, transportation contractor, L1 contractor & site sharing team other operators MN or ET (if needed). 

 

Site Engineering Support

 

  • Support site Engineering with new products Evaluation & Testing.
  • Participate in trials upon need.
  • Escalate & follow existing products issues till finding solution.

 

 

Power Efficiency

 

  • Evaluate Loads and make power upgrade plans and swapping.
  • Power assessment among sharing sites with OR and ET to perform power sharing.
  • Power cuts & emergencies backup plans.

 

 

Maneuvering& L2 support

  • Supporting ongoing projects Like UPP, PC rollback .etc.
  • Manage L2 support through supplier and insure fast response time and performance.

Core Competencies, Knowledge, and Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in Mobile Business Management among which at least 2 years in Technology related functions
  • BSC of Engineering in electrical or Mechanical.
  • Ability to deliver challenging targets in a dynamic market environment.
  • Full understanding of customer demands/needs and flexibility to exceed customers’ expectations.
  • Strong experience in Power DC/AC and generators.
  • Must have a strong and proven track record of operational services.
