Role purpose: 

We are seeking a highly skilled 5G Core Network Engineer with expertise in Binding Support Function (BSF) and Service Communication Proxy (SCP) to join our team. This role involves high/low-level design, engineering, delivery, and vendor management for BSF and SCP platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with IMS networks, 4G/5G technologies, and the ability to provide 3rd level support for production environments.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
 

1. BSF and SCP Design & Delivery:

• Lead the high and low-level design, engineering, and delivery of BSF and SCP systems.

• Ensure seamless integration and configuration within the company’s 4G/5G core networks.

2. Capacity & Configuration Management:

• Manage the capacity and configuration of BSF and SCP platforms to ensure optimal performance.

• Monitor and forecast network resource needs to maintain system stability and scalability.

3. Test Lab Management:

• Responsible for the configuration management, software acceptance, integration, and troubleshooting of BSF and SCP in test lab environments.

• Ensure secure operations and lifecycle management for the platforms within the test lab.

4. Vendor Management:

• Serve as the technical engineering Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for Oracle and other platform vendors.

• Handle technical escalations and work closely with vendors to resolve complex issues.

5. 3rd Level Support:

• Provide 3rd level support for BSF and SCP platforms in live production environments.

• Troubleshoot and resolve critical issues, ensuring minimal impact on service availability.


Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

Must-Have Technical Skills:

• IMS Networks: Strong hands-on experience with IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) networks, particularly in telecom environments.

• 4G/5G Networks: In-depth knowledge of 4G and 5G network architecture and core functionalities.

• BSF & SCP Expertise: Proven experience with BSF and SCP, including configuration, management, and troubleshooting.

• Capacity and Configuration Management: Solid understanding of network capacity planning and configuration best practices.

• Vendor Management: Experience acting as a liaison with vendors, particularly Oracle, to manage platform issues.

Certifications:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering is mandatory.


Interpersonal Skills:

• Autonomy: Ability to manage and execute complex deliverables independently in ambiguous situations.

• Problem-solving: Strong problem-solving skills with a proven track record of implementing tactical and strategic solutions in technical environments.

• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to explain technical concepts to stakeholders at all levels.

• Stakeholder Management: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders, including vendors and cross-functional teams.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with Oracle telecom solutions.

• Knowledge of lifecycle management and security protocols for BSF and SCP.

• Experience in managing telecom test labs, including software acceptance and integration.
