Role Purpose

The TOC & Infr. Tech Specialist plays a key supporting role in maintaining and optimizing the organization’s cloud-based infrastructure and associated hardware and software components. The primary objective of this role is to assist in the daily operations, monitoring, and troubleshooting of cloud environments, while gaining hands-on experience with backup, storage, and automation tools. The role supports senior engineers in delivering stable, secure, and scalable infrastructure solutions, ensuring service availability and performance for both internal users and external customers. This position offers a strong foundation for technical growth and exposure to enterprise cloud technologies, while contributing to continuous improvement and operational excellence. 

Key Accountabilities & Decision Ownership

•    Support daily operations for both software and hardware infrastructure within the cloud environment.
•    Perform routine health checks, log reviews, and basic issue identification under senior guidance.
•    Monitor backup jobs and storage usage; report anomalies and assist in initial diagnosis.
•      Escalate issues when necessary and follow documented procedures for basic remediation.

•    Participate in team discussions, training, and documentation of standard processes to build domain knowledge. (Trouble to Resolve & Root cause analysis and Trouble Ticket Enrichment)  

Core Competencies, Knowledge, and Experience

•    Basic Cloud & Virtualization Concepts – Understanding of cloud computing principles (public/private/hybrid), virtualization (e.g., VMware, KVM), and server infrastructure.
•    Operating Systems – Hands-on experience with administering or supporting Windows Server and Linux systems (installation, updates, services).
•    Scripting – Familiar with basic scripting in PowerShell and/or Bash to automate routine tasks.
•    Monitoring & Alerts – Exposure to system monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, or similar), log analysis, and performance tracking.
•    Backup & Storage Fundamentals – Awareness of backup concepts, storage tiers, and basic troubleshooting steps for common failures.
•    Ticketing & Documentation Tools – Experience using ITSM or ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira) and documenting technical steps clearly.

 

Must have technical / professional qualifications: 


•    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
•    1–3 years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure, cloud operations, or system administration roles.
•    Foundational knowledge of virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V).
•    Basic working knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems (installation, configuration, patching).
