Field Engineer
Location: Glasgow (Field based)
Salary: Excellent basic salary plus bonus and Vodafone benefits
Working Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week (Mon to Fri)

What you’ll do
Are you ready to deliver excellence and make a real impact in the field?
We’re looking for a professional and driven Field Engineer to join our team, supporting Vodafone’s strategic telecommunications network across Scotland. You’ll play a vital role in both provide and assure activities for Scottish Power, as well as interfacing with SSEN and National Grid telecoms networks.
In this role, you’ll be right at the heart of delivering top-tier engineering support across Scottish Power’s telecoms network in Scotland, as well as its connections into SSEN and National Grid.
You’ll be the go-to person for 1st line support, assurance activities, and routine maintenance—ready to respond 24/7, 365 days a year.
You’ll work closely with our project engineers to bring projects to life and ensure everything runs smoothly, meeting the expectations of both our client and Vodafone. It’s a role where you’ll need to keep a close eye on risk, quality, and health & safety—making sure standards are met not just for yourself, but across the team.
You will also bring solid technical knowledge of networking principles, with hands-on experience in both provide and assure delivery. If you’ve got a track record of successfully delivering technical projects across different solutions, we’d love to hear about it.
Who you are
- Exceptional organisation skills
- Demonstrable engineering installation & Commissioning experience
- Assure/Maintenance activity experience
- Able to adapt to a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work to the applicable quality standards.
- Installation of Networks & equipment (Commtel/SDH/PDH/Radio/Xtran)
- Excellent knowledge of routing switching and data networking
- IP networking (Wan, LAN, MPLS)
- Experience in maintaining monitoring and troubleshooting networks and systems
