What you’ll do

The role involves monitoring systems, managing deployments, troubleshooting application, middleware, database, and infrastructure issues, and supporting High Availability and Disaster Recovery operations. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the engineer also contributes to automation, operational improvements, and reliable service delivery through Linux, SQL, scripting, and DevOps practices.

Who you are

Key Responsibilities
Support applications across Development, UAT, Production, and DR.
Support Oracle WebLogic Server and Apache HTTP Server.
Perform deployments, health checks, and log monitoring.
Troubleshoot HTTP errors, timeouts, connectivity, CPU, memory, and disk issues.
Support JDBC Data Sources, database connectivity, and SQL troubleshooting.
Participate in production incidents, High Availability, and Disaster Recovery activities.
Develop basic automation scripts and technical documentation.
Collaborate with Development, Database, Infrastructure, Network, and Security teams.

Qualifications:


Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field.
1–2 years of experience in Application Support, Middleware, Infrastructure, DevOps, System Administration, or a related role.
Good Linux, SQL, and database fundamentals.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Preferred Technologies
Linux / RHEL | Oracle WebLogic | Apache HTTP Server | Oracle Database | SQL | Bash | Docker | Kubernetes | OCI

 

Required Technical Knowledge:


 Linux / RHEL: processes, services, permissions, CPU, memory, disk, logs, and basic networking.
Web Server Concepts: HTTP/HTTPS, reverse proxy, load balancing, SSL/TLS, status codes, timeouts, health checks, and basic Apache HTTP Server knowledge.
Application Server Concepts: difference between Web Server and Application Server, plus basic knowledge of Domain, Admin Server, Managed Server, Cluster, Node Manager, JVM, Deployments, JDBC Data Sources, and Connection Pools. Basic Oracle WebLogic knowledge is preferred.
High Availability: load balancing, failover, redundancy, health checks, clustering, Active-Active / Active-Passive, and Disaster Recovery.
Database: basic Oracle Database, SQL, JDBC, and Connection Pool knowledge.
Troubleshooting flow:
User → Load Balancer → Web Server → Application Server → Database
Ability to identify the likely failing layer and collect relevant logs.
Docker & Kubernetes
Foundation-level knowledge is required.
DevOps & Automation
Basic knowledge of Git, CI/CD, Bash/Shell scripting, and automation.
Nice to Know
Networking: DNS, TCP/IP, ports, firewalls, routing, load balancers, and connectivity troubleshooting.
Security: authentication, authorization, SSL/TLS, certificates, least privilege, and application security basics.
