We are looking for a

Database Management Senior Specialist

Your place in the team

•    Bachelor or graduate degree in computer science (or related field)
•    Perform database installation,configuration, migration, patching, upgrade and management
•    Responsible for ensuring database backups and restores to include scheduled testing and validation
•    Monitor and tune database performance, participate in capacity planning, including processing, storage, and back-up/recovery capacity
•    Implementing and managing MongoDB HA environments
•    Supporting high availability of databases
•    Provide guidance to developers or architects as needed.
•    Evolve the database environment within the organization, including better information delivery mechanisms, methodologies, and architecture
•    Resolve problems in database bottleneck areas with tuning and proactive maintenance
•    Controlling access permissions and privileges
•    Implement best practices and standards
•    Ensuring that storage, archiving, backup and recovery procedures are functioning correctly
•    Proactive monitoring of deployed systems and HW/SW components
•    Ensure that VF HSE&W procedures are implemented and works carried out in compliance with local HSE regulations.
•    Ensure that work associated risks are assessed and reduced so far as is reasonably practicable
•    Comply with VFTR’s information security policy, standards and procedures, available under Intranet / Corporate Security Library,
•    Report all suspected security and/or policy breaches, potential security risks to VF TR Corporate Security,
•    Protect VF TR’s information assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference,
•    Protect user accounts and associated passwords , and accept accountability for any actions performed via usage of those accounts.
•    Ensure that VFTR  BCM policy /standard ,procedures ,plans  implemented and works carried out in compliance with   BS 25999 -2:2007  Standard 
•    Ensure that BCM  risks are assessed and mitigated  so far as is reasonably practicable in VFTR  Business Continuity Management System (BCMS)
•    Ensure VTR BCMS by planning, establishing, embedding, implementing, monitoring, reviewing, maintaining and improving within VFTR

Job Responsibility

We are looking for you if you have

•    At least 3 years of experience with MongoDB
•    Experience administering systems in a high traffic, multi-system, public facing environment.
•    Solid understanding of NoSQL database architecture 
•    Knowledge of HA, DR and GR architecture 
•    Design and implement sharing and indexing strategies for MongoDB.
•    Hands on experience with building and maintaining MongoDB replica sets
•    Hands on experience with building and maintaining MongoDB sharded environment
•    Experience with Ops Manager and management tools&scripts
•    Capacity monitoring and management capabilities
•    Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
•    Strong query and database tuning skills
•    Adept with writing advanced queries.
•    Knowledge of storage, servers, operating systems, and application interaction.
•    Design, implement and manage the security of MongoDB databases.
•    Experience in Privileged Access Management - authentication mechanisms like LDAP, Active Directory
•    Proactively work on monitoring, identifying and fixing database related issues
•    Python or Java knowledge is plus
•    Knowledge of Unix & Linux is preferred
•    Experience in using Python or Ansible to automate infrastructure tasks is plus
•    Eager to improve technical skills
•    Fluency in English
