What you’ll do

The OSS team in the Network operations function is seeking an experienced Automation Service Owner to join the team and to lead operationally different solutions that underpin the execution of our digital and automation strategy for Network Operations.

The successful candidate will provide leadership direction and line management for the internal and external operational teams, using appropriately agile, devops and waterfall delivery methodologies, build the plan: time, work allocation, resources, organisation and governance, and ensure execution of the plan by managing the team and addressing the risks.

As an Automation Service Owner, you will be accountable for creating and maintaining an operational framework delivering excellent customer service in a cost-efficient manner and you will be accountable for leading and successfully delivering projects and programmes of work across several strategic pillars.

The successful candidate will ensure all relevant operational certifications and audits are complied with and maintained and that support required by Service, Incident and problem processes is delivered in an efficient and timely manner for all the applications under his accountability.

You will be comfortable with answering operational escalations and provide operational solutions that are meeting the internal or external customer demands.

As an Automation Service Owner, you will to be accountable for planning the yearly budget and achievement of the yearly budgetary targets in a reasonable manner and manage the risks for the applications in your accountability.

You will immerse yourself in the Vodafone transition to a digital organisation. You will champion “agile ways of working” and be hungry for innovation and will embrace creativity, experimentation and risk taking with a “fail fast” mentality.

Who you are

  • Technical bachelor’s degree or equivalent studies;
  • 5 years background experience in operating complex operations support solutions IT technologies;
  • Accountable for functional management of the shared service and managed service teams;
  • Accountable for the key service operations activities to be performed appropriately and in accordance with the agreed Service-level agreement;
  • Accountable for technical service ramp-up (installation, configuration, and coordination of setup tasks) for owned applications;
  • Responsible for service escalations;
  • Responsible for the business continuity plan;
  • Responsible to collect budget approvals;
  • Maintain expected levels of quality for the services and applications;
  • Leading operational functions;
  • Strong knowledge of automation and cloud solutions technologies. (e.g. GCP applications, Resolve, Ansible, phyton, software delivery methodologies);
  • Service and problem-solving focus;
  • Suppliers contract negotiations;
  • Fluency in English
