The E2E Cloud Data Core Design Specialist acts as technical lead in complex Network Evolutions Programs, managing the Data Core solutions design in a consistent, efficient and harmonized way across Europe.

In this position, you will be accountable for the overall solution design of the Packet Core Network Functions and Platforms, with special focus on integration in the supporting infrastructure (Cloud and IP Network). The role focuses on solution design, whether on a vendor stack or Vodafone’s engineered cloud, ensuring applicability across all European markets and life cycle management.

You will work at the forefront of new architectures, technologies, and features, structuring knowledge and translating it into deliverable designs for implementation projects. It is also the responsibility of our team, that the design gaps in the markets are acknowledged and fed back into the design, to make sure it is always responding to the network needs.

What you’ll do

  • Plan and design the network evolution, based on new business or technology requirements.
  • Work with Network Strategy Architecture to transform strategy into actionable designs aligned with technical and investment cycles.
  • Engage with network suppliers to maximize product value, challenge portfolios, and drive evolution.
  • Support new RFQ completion, working together with VPC and Network Strategy Architecture team.
  • Support Vodafone Cloud Infrastructure Team to optimize hardware capacity and roadmap planning.
  • Coordinate with OSS, Security, and other vertical domains to ensure proper interface design and integration.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Delivery Units and Market Operations to transfer knowledge, share design guidelines, gather requirements, and support troubleshooting.

Who you are

  • Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline;
  • Proven experience in Network Engineering/Operations;
  • Strong background knowledge on Packet Core Network;
  • Strong Cloud and IP Infrastructure Knowledge;
  • Familiarity with multi-vendor environments;
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills;
  • Innovative mindset to challenge the status quo and drive new ideas;
  • Customer focus;
  • Teamwork and strong collaboration, integrity, and relationship-building skills;
  • Proven track record of having successfully acted in an internationally/globally distributed team set up
  • Fluency in English.
