What you’ll do
Manager role for the Central and Portugal region of the Vodafone Network Strategy & Engineering organization taking care of Value-Added-Services which includes Entitlement Server, Integration Gateways, Location Services, Interactive Voice Recognition and Automatic Call Distribution, Application and Mobile Apps development and SIM technology.
The key role is to lead a team of engineers accountable for designing, delivery and testing both distributed or centralized service platforms and guide the team to define the corresponding roadmap, architecture and evolution strategy, boosting harmonization and centralization, relying on Network Function Virtualization architectures and Software Development strategies.
- Accountable for Project, Program, Budget and People Management. Organize and coordinate team projects and activities in the Value-Added-Services area, actively supporting and coaching the team by engaging and driving vendors and internal stakeholders to deliver Vodafone European marketing requirements.
- People Management: to engage and lead the team to effectively reach company goals, building relationships with relevant stakeholders and act as first escalation point.
- People Development: accountable for defining, supervise and support personal / individual performance and development plans for the Value-Added-Services Engineering and Delivery team.
- Project Management: to define controls and identify improvements to maximise efficiency,
- Budget Management. Independent and autonomous budget life cycle management. Full commitment with budget preparation, approval processes and budget execution supervision.
- Strategy and Evolution: consistent tracking, detection and evaluation of technology trends, identify needs and initiate new processes or solution adjustments, including the introduction of new cost-effective technologies and projects.
Who you are
- Degree in Computer Science or Telecommunications or related field
- High-level of written and spoken English
- Knowledge of telecoms technologies, Core Network, Value Added Services, Network Function Virtualization, DevOps/Agile delivery frameworks, Open APIs enabling Digital Ecosystems, Cloud & Containerized Environment
- Project Management Certification (preferred)
- Leadership experience as program, project manager or team leader and long-standing (over 7 years) professional experience
- Personal ability to motivate a small team, resolve conflicts and managing a changing environment
