What you’ll do

Vodafone TV is a leading provider of innovative television and streaming services in several countries, offering a wide range of content and an unparalleled viewing experience. We are committed to delivering high-quality TV services to our customers and continuously advancing our technology and content offerings. Vodafone TV leverages advanced technologies, including cloud-based solutions and modern broadcasting standards, to deliver high-quality video and audio content. It often uses a combination of DVB-C, IPTV, and OTT technologies to provide a reliable and robust service. 
The role holder will be responsible for designing and implement robust, scalable, and high-performance solutions in cloud and serverless environments. The candidate is expected to be an active contributor to the evolution of the architectural ecosystem of Vodafone TV with expertise in AWS, GCP, API design and infrastructure design.

  • Cloud & Serverless Solutions: Design and implement scalable and secure cloud-based solutions using AWS, emphasizing serverless technologies and microservices
  • API Design & Development: Design and development of secure, efficient, and scalable APIs for internal and external use. Manage API gateways (Apigee) and implement API security best practices
  • Platform Security: Collaborate with Group Security to implement and support security assessments and ensure the platform complies with security standards
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams (client and video architects, product, operation, and integration teams) to deliver integrated and cohesive solution
  • Cost-Aware Design: Ensure cost-effective cloud infrastructure by optimizing cloud service selection and minimizing operational expenses, while maintaining performance and security

Who you are

  • Experience in backend services design and development, preferably within the TV or streaming industry
  • Strong expertise in AWS and GPC, with practical experience in serverless architectures and cloud-native services
  • Experience on Javascript, JSON, XML, and tools like Grafana, Kibana, Postman
  • API Security & Gateway Management: Experience with Apigee or similar API management vendors and tools
  • Microservices & API Design: In-depth knowledge of microservices architecture and experience designing scalable APIs
  • Platform Security: Knowledge of cloud and data security principles
  • TV & Streaming Platforms: Familiarity with media streaming infrastructure, content delivery networks (CDNs), and video workflows
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive and hands-on approach to challenges
  • Accountability: high sense of responsibility to drive end-to-end solution, managing the relationship with internal stakeholders and vendors
  • Team spirit and collaboration: capability to work collaboratively is highly appreciated
