Role Title: Pre-Sales Senior Security Consultant    
Location: South England Hub & *Hybrid
Working Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week – Mon to Fri

Role Purpose

  • The subject matter expert for the security elements of sales opportunities for Vodafone’s managed services to enterprise customers within the UK.  This is a customer-facing role working with global clients who are UK-centric.
  • Consider security in the round, including but not exclusively technology security. Examples include security requirements, security schedules, security management plans, security aspects letters as well as physical, personnel and procedural security controls.
  • Accountable for the deliverable of winning, customer requirement focussed cyber security solution proposals and bid responses which are fully governed and deliverable.  
  • Ensure accurate and relevant security information and support is provided to both internal (Sales, Pre-Sales) and external customers in a timely manner.
  • Ensure accurate security requirements are captured ensuring that solutions can be delivered and supported by Vodafone.
  • Define and agree security elements of solutions and the tailoring or explanation of existing security features, capabilities and facilities.
  • The role requires strong customer facing and stakeholder management skills, including influencing customers to accept Vodafone standard offerings where possible, and supporting qualification and governance where deviation is required. This role requires relationships across the organisation and ultimately to ensure full governance of the security element of assigned opportunities. This role requires a good understanding of the security of the products and services within the Vodafone portfolio.
  • This role works extensively with sales and solution teams to support their strategies and customer opportunities. This role works in cross-functional and virtual teams of specialists, including third parties and partners, to design innovative solutions for customers. This role supports the sales and solutioning process across pre-sales engagement, qualification, design, costing, governance and handover to delivery.
  • This role uses personal experience and knowledge of Vodafone and industry practices to ensure solutions provide appropriate security that meets the customer needs and is supportable by Vodafone.

Key Accountabilities & Decision Ownership 

  • Assist Solution and Sales teams by providing, developing, designing and presenting the security aspects of solutions. This includes cyber security solutions as well as the security aspects of other solutions.
  • Provide accurate and high-quality bid inputs including written responses to tenders, requirements documentation, inputs to the commercial model, statement of works for suppliers, handover to delivery.
  • Ensure solutions are formally approved and agreed as deliverable by appropriate Vodafone stakeholders and governance forums.
  • Provide accurate and timely security information to colleagues and customers in response to enquiries.
  • Agreement of the security aspects of contracts and security aspects letters with customers, Vodafone & suppliers
     

Core Competencies, Knowledge & Experience

  • Consulting & design skills. Extensive experience designing, integrating and advising clients across complex transformations or programmes. Experience in responding to RFP/RFI’s that include Managed Security Products and Services. Experience in requirements management, solution design, developing proposals and statements of work.
  • Communication and influencing skills. Able to articulate, write and present complex matters in a high quality, clear and concise manner appropriate to the audience. Able to influence stakeholders to mutually agreeable solutions.
  • Relationship skills. Able to own and develop effective working relationships at various levels and work collaboratively with stakeholders with minimal direction.
  • Security & market knowledge. Strong technical security background in IT and networks, ideally with a pre-sales, consultancy or assurance background. Good knowledge of security good practice, requirements and solutions. Knowledge of IT frameworks and sources of good practice guidance (e.g. ISO, ITIL, NCSC, NIST). Current experience of working with one of more of public sector, large enterprise, financial services, critical national infrastructure markets.
  • Security breadth. Able to confidently develop solutions involving broad security technology domains (e.g. fixed networking, mobile networking, encryption, cloud, cyber, IoT, personnel, process).

 

Technical / Professional Qualifications 

  • Extensive customer facing pre-sales experience.
  • Capable of working in a matrix organisation and able to build strong relationship and credibility with Board/ Executives both internally and externally 
  • Detailed knowledge of security in data communication, network, software application and IT technologies.
  • Ability to attain and maintain a level of security clearance
  • Professional security qualifications are desirable (e.g. CISSP, CISM)
