What you’ll do

  • Provide technical architecture and application guidance when ideating during the innovation sprints with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Provision of architecture and design processes and operating model, especially in the context of the Vodafone Agile Transformation
  • Engaging with sprint activities and to establish opportunities to innovate new projects in the form of PoC/ MVPs to establish and align on incubation phase to support solution design activities.
  • Producing high quality solution architecture deliverables, including Impact Assessments and Solution Design documents (HLDs)
  • Quality assurance and review of deliverables produced by the delivery and engineering teams (including 3rd parties)
  • Design support and consultancy for complex projects
  • Supporting projects through build and test activities where end to end design issues and changes may arise
  • Risk and issue identification and reporting to the sprint project management and IoT Solution Architecture Manager
  • Participation in the Architecture Governance processes including the Architecture Review Board
  • Contribute to Design Patterns and evangelise their use across digital transformation projects
  • Accountable for a delivering high quality architecture and design deliverables including:Impact Assessments,High Level Designs,Blueprints, Solution Intents, Options Papers
  • Design decision ownership including making decisions which could have material impact on project business cases.
  • Digital solution architect working closely with customers and partners.
  • Virtually lead and advise back-end designers for all products developed within the Co-Creation sprint.
  • Review customer requirements and integrate all application requirements, including functional, security, integration, performance, quality, and operations requirements. The day-to-day work of the web developer highly depends on constantly evolving internet innovations.
  • Review UX designs from the Co-Creation sprints and translate them into the technical and digital architecture requirements.
  • Provide input into final decisions regarding hardware, network products, system software and security.

Who you are

  • Good experience in designing complex, distributed, secure and scalable architecture solutions within complex organisations (100+ applications), preferably in the Telecommunications and/or B2B market
  • Highly professional, well presented, authoritative and credible.
  • Key asset in expanding our digital services by providing strategic advice, technology leadership and if required implementation services to the customer.
  • Contribute significantly for expanding successful digital capability and should be capable of driving the most complex and multi-disciplinary product development projects for our customers.
  • Experience across the whole software delivery cycle from project initiation to production deployment, within Agile environments
  • Strong knowledge of architecture best practices and design patterns, including:
  • Sound experience working with a broad range of architectural patterns (e.g. SOA, microservices, COTS)
  • In-depth knowledge of modern web and cloud architecture
  • In depth knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure and OpenStack)
  • Understanding of DevOps culture, practices and tools
