For the role of Specialist OPEN RAN Engineering Lead  we are looking for candidates with a broad range of skills. 

The responsibilities include:

  • Lead discussions with Open RAN customers on Vodafone Open RAN strategy, its implementation and best practices
  • Propose and ideate “satellite to mobile” and Open RAN based solutions to customers
  • Discuss and generate strategy content by interacting with other Open RAN key players within the Vodafone organisation or other industry players
  • Deliver Radio and “satellite to mobile” strategy, participating on the development and delivery, from high-level specifications to validated deployable solutions
  • Lead activities on the wider “Network of Collaboration”, maximizing Vodafone's influence in the Radio space
  • Drive technical relationships with vendors in the areas of product responsibility, benchmarking, roadmap and performance management. Support or lead RFQ-based technical assessments.
  • Ideate, drive and deliver Product Innovations that allow for differentiation of Vodafone's service to our customers as well as to reduce Total Cost of Ownership compared to traditional suppliers. 

What you bring

  • Over 10 years’ experience in mobile operator/Radio supplier environment in the fields of 2G/3G/4G/5G Radio Access Networks
  • Experience in software or hardware development of RAN products or functions
  • Proven track record for successful development and delivery of new Radio technologies/final customer solutions
  • Desired Experience in NTN, Open RAN based technologies, virtualised RAN platforms, vRAN, Network Function Virtualisation (NFV), and associated HW and SW architectures and platforms
  • Experience in delivering RFI/RFP/RFQ management and evaluation
  • Experience on delivering services for customers with proven track record of successful deliverables
  • Top customer relationship, and Powerpoint presentation preparation skills
  • Programme Management Skills
  • Desirable to have a University degree in Engineering/ Computer Science or MBA
