Overall Role Purpose:


•    You will play an integral part of the Vodafone Field Engineering team, performing installation and maintenance activities in support of the fixed and mobile networks as well as Vodafone business solutions.  
•    The role holder must have a flexible approach to working hours and be willing to travel if required to meet the demands of the business 
•    The role holder must be willing to travel afield, working away from home if required.  
•    The candidate will be expected to participate in a 24/7 callout rota and / or shift pattern as and when required in alignment with the working hours of the Operating Unit you are assigned to
•    Advanced Climber/Tower Rescue certification is essential and the role holder will be expected to undertake regular health assessments to ensure that all aspects of the role may be carried out safely

 

Key Accountabilities


•    Plan, manage and lead Working @ Height tasks in line with H&S Policy
•    Installation and de-installation of Vodafone antenna equipment on customer, network & Cell sites, including:


     o    Production of suitable RAMS
     o    Preparing for work on exposed structures
     o    Planning access and egress from place of work
     o    Preparing and using suitable lifting equipment
     o    Preparing sites for installation of aerial equipment and associated feeders
     o    Positioning and mounting aerial equipment to meet the planning requirements
     o    Installing and correctly terminating feeders between antennae and radio equipment.


•    Maintain Vodafone antennae equipment on customer, network & Cell sites, including:


     o    Reporting on the condition of antenna equipment and associated feeders
     o    Repairing, replacing and adjusting antenna equipment and associated feeders to meet specification
     o    Testing and diagnosing faults in antenna systems
     o    Working at all times within the current safety regulations
     o    Implementing Routine Maintenance as per ESDB process


•    Where necessary, contribute to the rescue of injured personnel whilst working at heights.
•    Maintain tools, test equipment and vehicle to a high standard, whilst ensuring the security of company assets at all times.
•    Proactively seek opportunities to improve the customer’s experience of Vodafone and promote the company’s interests to enhance the ENPS score

 

Who you are

 

Rigging/Climber experience with the ability to achieve and maintain Advanced Climber / Tower Rescue Certification and passing regular health assessments in accordance with MATS guidance is essential. 

 

•    Lifting, lowering & removal of Antennae & associated equipment

•    Hands on Experience of telecoms test equipment and technologies of some of the following:

 

     o    Mobile networking technologies 3G/4G/5G and associated equipment
     o    Microwave Radio & antenna systems
     o    Coax cabling, waveguide and termination


•    Testing and diagnosing faults in antenna systems

•    Valid / full UK / EU driving license (Category B) 
•    Ability to achieve and maintain SC clearance status
