Cloud and SDN Architect
Role Purpose
As Cloud and SDN solution architect in Cloud Solutions, Orchestration and Intelligence team we expect you to run cloud solutions design for all the European Markets including MPN and Edge, in accordance with Vodafone strategy and focused on Virtual/Containerized Network Functions (VFN) and SDN needs.
As a member of Cloud solution team , technology focus from solution design and best practices perspective will be (but not limited to):
- Virtualization and Cloud native platforms overall;
 - RedHat OpenShift OCP and ACM, Openshift Virtualization, Ceph storage and k8s components like MetalLB, Prometheus, Whereabouts, FluentBit, Istio;
 - Hardware and software lifecycle management
 - VMWare by Broadcom Telco Cloud Platform components, namely: vCloud Director, vSphere, vRealize products (vRealize Operations, Orchestrator, Log inside and Network Insight), NSX-T, Telco Cloud Automation (TCA) and VMWare Tanzu Kuberneters Grid (TKG), AVI Load Balancer;
 - Infrastructure in general (hypervisor, computing, storage, Networking - physical or virtual);

What you’ll do
- Prepare mid and long term technology plan, in line with Vendor’s roadmap and technology evolution, to cope with customers’ and traffic growth ensuring service quality and network performance according to business requirements
 - Solution Design (CaaS, IaaS and/or PaaS) in accordance to Vodafone needs and aligned with best practices.
 - Evaluate Vendors’ technical and commercial offers and support Supply Chain/Vodafone Purchase Company activities during commercial negotiations with the Vendors
 - Prepare mid and long term financial planning activities (Network Evolution Plan and Short & Long Range Plan)
 - Support capacity planning and its continuous monitoring through Machine Learning techniques.

Must have technical / professional qualifications:
- Degree qualified
 - At least 5 years professional experience in cloud and virtualization telco workload
 - Expert in data centre infrastructure, cloud computing and virtualization architectures (Telco)
 - Solid understanding of virtualization (VMWare) and containerization (Kubernetes)
 - Solid understanding of routing and switching protocols (ie. BGP / ISIS / OSPF)
 - Experience with kubernetes networking (CNIs, Service Mesh, Network Policies, Ingress/Egress)
 - Experience with Network Load Balancers and Firewalls
 - Experience designing/implementing IPv6 solutions
