What you’ll do

Key accountabilities and decision ownership : 

  • Manage vendor strategy for areas owned, included defining and maintaining technical requirements, and supporting RFX processes as needed.
  • Design innovative solutions to support new services that rely on latest technology capabilities such as API exposure, machine learning, artificial intelligence, analytics, predictions, network slicing, and any other potential value-added services.
  • Include in the design and selection process the requirements for cloud native characteristics of the overall E2E solution (platforms and NW), maximising flexibility, automation, resiliency and customer experience while optimising overall efficiency/costs.
  • Support Product development and commercial teams and ensure Service Platform architecture and capabilities are prepared to support future products and propositions.
  • Manage evolution and roadmap, in line with industry, standardization bodies and Vodafone own interest,  of network functions or products (deployed or to be deployed in Vodafone markets), and benchmark them.

 

Key performance indicators:

  • Timely delivery of architecture documents, blueprints, design, guidelines, vendors benchmarking and vendor selection process results (RFP/RFI) etc. as per related plans
  • Direct contribution to vendor/system selection, and systems benchmarking. Influence vendor roadmap when required by Vodafone interests.
  • Support as needed Vodafone and Partner Markets

Who you are

Core competencies, knowledge and experience :

  • Solid technical experience on: Core data and voice networks (components and architecture) and its evolution from 2G to 5G, including IMS and Service applications running on top
  • General competence/background: in telecommunications (technologies and services) and ideally also in related technologies (e.g. microservices architecture, databases etc)
  • Competence in cloud technologies and cloud native solutions such as containers.
  • Communication skills: English language (spoken and written), good communication & presentation and negotiation skills
    Work experience:

5 years experience in Core Network and Service Applications.
Must have technical / professional qualifications

Engineering Degree or equivalent
