What you’ll do

We are looking for a Marketplace Platform Architect to join our team: The Vodafone Business IT Marketplace team designs, delivers and maintains the IT platforms and applications that underpins the diverse range of products and services offered by our Vodafone Business division for our SME and SOHO customers. Our platforms and solutions support our Local Operating companies who benefit from the economies of scale that our centrally built IT solutions provide. You will have the opportunity to work on some of the most exciting technological advances in the Vodafone Business including Digital Channels, Marketplace, e-commerce, Cloud&Security, Managed Services for Cloud&Security products, IoT, Unified Communication and much more.

Key responsibilities and ownership: 
Strategic Leadership
• Drive the architectural vision and roadmap for Vodafone Business Marketplace platforms
• Contribute to and champion technology strategy alignment across local markets and global teams
• Act as the primary technology contact for marketplace initiatives, ensuring stakeholder engagement and alignment.

 

Solution Design & Delivery
• Lead end-to-end platform architecture and technical design across the marketplace ecosystem
• Conduct impact assessments and evaluate technical options to meet business demands
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architects, Domain Architects, and Platform Owners to ensure scalable, compliant, and cost-effective design solutions across the marketplace ecosystem in line with architecture blueprints and standards, to meet the needs of customers, obtaining the optimum balance between compliance to requirements and delivery times/costs/quality
• Define platform/product features, user stories, and technical requirements

 

Technology Governance & Enablement:
• Evaluate and manage technology vendors, ensuring alignment with Vodafone’s standards and customer experience goals
• Stay current with emerging technologies and vendor roadmaps to inform strategic decisions
• Produce high-quality documentation including high-level and detailed designs, service/process designs, test strategies, and acceptance criteria.

• Technical Options and Impact Assessment, High level and Detailed Designs, Service and Process Designs, VROM, SoWs
• Technology roadmaps
• Test Strategy, Test Plan and Acceptance Documents

Who you are

  • Proven experience in architecture and end-to-end design for platforms such as e-commerce, digital channels, and cloud-based customer solutions
  • Strong understanding of Digital Channels, Microservices, Open Digital Architecture, APIs, and middleware technologies
  • Familiarity with SSO technologies (Open ID, SAML, OAuth) and Enterprise Architecture frameworks (TOGAF, TM Forum)
  • Hands-on knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React.js, Node.js) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Experience in mobile network technologies and IP Networking
  • Agile development experience in Technology/Telco environments proven by a successful track record of project delivery and virtual team management skills
  • Familiarity with SAFe, Prince2, or other formal project management methodologies
  • Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to lead virtual teams and coordinate across domains
  • Growth mindset and ability to stay current with technology trends and vendor roadmaps
  • University degree in computer science/ electrical / electronic / telecommunications engineering or similar technical degree
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a mobile operating company or a global technology company
  • Good awareness of Enterprise Architecture frameworks (TOGAF, TM Forum, etc)
