What you’ll do

As an engineer in the Vodafone Group's R&D team you will be responsible for simulating, emulating, and trialling the latest in advanced communication technologies related to satellite engineering and 6G.

You will also help with future demand forecasting, regulatory compliance and keeping on top of the latest developments in the non-terrestrial networks industry.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Carry out complex simulations and emulations for satellite communications
  • RF propagation modelling
  • Write technical reports for management
  • Keep on top of latest trend in non-terrestrial networks (GEO, MEO, LEO & HAPS/Drones)
  • Capacity demand modelling
  • Write and carry out in depth technical test plans/ PoC’s

 

Who you are

We are looking for a highly driven individual who can adapt and learn new skills quickly with strong skills in research and simulation tools specifically related to RF propagation and satellite communications.

 

Key knowledge/qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering or similar subject
  • Expert in simulation software e.g. MATLAB (including the satellite toolbox), Python etc.
  • High level of knowledge in RF propagation modelling
  • In depth knowledge around satellite communications
  • Strong knowledge of satellite orbits/constellations and HAPS/Drones
  • Good technical understanding of how telecommunication network architecture works
  • Ability to write technical reports and test plans
  • Knowledge around regulatory aspects of telecommunications
