What you’ll do

The primary focus of the role will be to ensure best-in-class technical security consultancy to Vodafone across a wide range of IT, network & telecoms solutions and services. You need to be able to solve complex and multi-dimensional problems, adopting a risk-based approach for the end to end IOT service. You will be expected lead on the more complex issues, engage with senior stakeholders, mentor team members and provide Cyber thought leadership across the wider team.
Cybersecurity Senior Manager will provide consultancy, subject matter expertise and technical assurance for the IOT product portfolio with specific responsibility to ensure that Cyber governance, policies and standards are in place and effective. The role will require experience in technical security architectural best practice and the ability to identify technical controls improvements to positively uplift the security posture of IOT.
Deep understanding of the IT and Network systems development lifecycle is essential to enable close collaboration with architects, analysts and a host of third parties to assure the technical compliance of Vodafone’s platforms and solutions with internal policies, standards and Cyber Security control requirements.
We are looking for a Cyber Security Senior Manager for the carved-out IoT Business responsible for the following key responsibilities: 

  • The role brings experience, knowledge, and future vision for establishing the Cybersecurity function including its strategy. The role holder is a senior stakeholder in all relationships with internally and externally sourced security capabilities. 
  • The role will require strong ability to lead and drive matrix teams, and especially the ability to engage, influence and manage senior stakeholders and stakeholders of all levels across Vodafone, Vodafone IoT, VCI, Networks, and the wider Cyber community.  The role holder will be seen as a subject matter expert and will be regularly guiding and advising colleagues within their team and across IOT on technical cyber security.
  • Strong influencing skills are essential as well as the ability to engage and gain support from senior stakeholders within matrix and complex organisations.  Comfortable with ambiguity and the ability to prioritise competing demands and tasks are also key.  A strong understanding of the wider business, its decision points and power structures is important.
  • Also important is strong communication skills in order to explain highly complicated technical issues to audiences of varying technical understanding. 
  • Ensure that all Vodafone IoT products and services launched undergo proper Secure by Design processes, by maintaining a proper Risk Management and Compliance across the company.  The primary focus is protecting Vodafone and our customers (via products and services that they use). 
  • Deliver benefits of stronger control assurance and faster implementation of security control.
  • Ensure cybersecurity is integrated into the full lifecycle of IoT platforms and services
  • Lead the identification, tracking, and secure decommissioning of end-of-life systems, minimizing residual risk and ensuring compliance.

Who you are

  • Strong experience in applying technical security baseline standards from Internal and external standards to ensure security through the full product lifecycle of enterprise products and services
  • Demonstrable technical security experience in IT & networks ideally in a consultancy or assurance role
  • Strong knowledge of IOT/M2M ecosystems and frameworks including SIM security.  
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address security risks.
  • Proactive approach to identifying and mitigating security risks
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively convey security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Customer interfacing skills/experience desirable
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant legal and regulatory requirements, such as GDPR, Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX), TISAX, Payment Card Industry/Data Security Standard.
  • Knowledge of common information security management frameworks, such as ISO/IEC 27001, ITIL, and COBIT.
  • Proficiency in security technologies and tools such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, WAF, Vulnerability Management, certificates and encryption . Strong knowledge of security frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
  • Pentesting experience would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tooling, agile delivery and DevSecOps frameworks
  • Demonstrable assessment/ assurance industry expertise in cybersecurity
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or Professional qualifications, CISSP, CISM or similar.
