What you’ll do
As the Security Architect SbD Networks you will be required to develop and document end-to-end security architecture that will protect the network infrastructure from the significant and persistent cyber security threat to which Vodafone UK is exposed to.
You need to ensure security architecture is developed adequately to protect the availability, confidentiality and integrity of network infrastructure assets and the customer services provided by these assets.
The security architect is required to develop this architecture in conjunction with Group and European region technical architects and influence them to support the UK position. This architecture and ability to influence senior technical stakeholders across the group will underpin attaining and retaining of business-critical certificates and legislative obligations.
- Identify the relationship between the various components inside network infrastructure architecture and the way in which they depend on each other
- Provide end-to-end network infrastructure security standardisation based on efficient implementation of security policy, controls and legal & regulatory requirements
- Define and document Security Architecture Frameworks for network infrastructure
- Develop the roadmap for rolling out network security controls
- Deliver Network Security Architecture and Design Blueprints, ensuring the appropriate balance of short term and strategic security objectives are maintained
- Ensure effective collaboration with internal technology teams and wider security community to deliver on technology security objectives and controls
Who you are
- Educated to degree level and/or relevant technical experience with a proven track record of delivering complex cross-domain Networks/IT solutions architectures/designs in the telecommunications industry
- Knowledge of common information technology management / compliance frameworks such as ISO/IEC 27001, SOC 2, SOX, ITIL, COBIT, and NIST.
- Knowledge of legal, regulatory and privacy requirements, such as Personally Identifiable Information (PII) Protection and Payment Card Industry (PCI)/Data Security Standard
- An ability to think strategically and drive change
- A deep understanding of Tech Security risks and mitigating solutions
- A diverse security background with knowledge in several areas including: layered security architecture; internet protocols; firewalls; VPN technologies, IDS/IPS, network access control and network segmentation, anti-malware and spam technologies; risk and vulnerability assessments, and compliance.
- An industry security certification. CISSP is strongly preferred.
- An industry network certification (CCNA, CCNP) is desired
- Demonstrable and recent track record of delivering security controls that span multi-disciplinary areas across Enterprise domains in large telecommunications environments
- Sound overall knowledge of fixed and mobile network architectures and methodologies to secure them
- Practices and methods of enterprise architecture and security architecture
