Roles & Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership: - Define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for monitoring and observability practices aligned with business goals. - Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and tools to advance monitoring and observability capabilities.
2. Team Management: - Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of engineers specializing in monitoring, observability, and site reliability. - Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.
3. System Design & Implementation: - Oversee the implementation of advanced observability frameworks, including metrics, logs, and distributed tracing. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of monitoring tools with infrastructure in on-premises, cloud, other 3rd party monitoring tools and applications.
4. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: - Partner with engineering, DevOps, and product teams to address system bottlenecks and optimize service reliability. - Communicate insights, trends, and risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment on priorities.
5. Product Knowledge: - Familiarity with Microfocus OML,OBM and Zabbix,cribl & Helix AIOps , including understanding their end-of-service life timelines and support phases. - Experience with cloud-compliant infrastructure and the ability to manage the migration of monitoring solutions. - This role is crucial for ensuring the seamless transition of monitoring solutions to a more modern and efficient platform, aligning with the organization's strategic goals
6. Governance & Compliance: - Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements related to monitoring and data collection. - Implement best practices for security and privacy in observability systems.
7. Risk Management: - Address risks associated with not upgrading and migrating, such as failing monitoring, unavailability of capacity and performance management data, endangerment of cloud adoption, and lack of self-service monitoring. - Ensure the migration follows the _VOIS strategy and is the least invasive, without incurring additional license costs.
