About this Role
We are seeking a Manual Testing Specialist with strong expertise in the Digital Video domain, including IPTV, OTT, and Cable TV platforms. The role involves hands-on testing across multiple devices such as STBs, Smart TVs, mobile platforms, and streaming services. You will collaborate with product teams and clients, ensuring high-quality delivery through test design, execution, and defect management.
What you will do
- Execute tests on OTT projects across STB, Mobile, Smart TV, Apple TV, Fire TV, and similar platforms.
- Analyse requirements and engage with clients/product teams to clarify issues.
- Design and review test cases, create defects, and perform retesting.
- Conduct log analysis and troubleshoot issues.
- Train new joiners on project processes and tools.
- Provide daily status reports to management.
Who you are
- Experienced in Digital Video domain projects (IPTV, OTT) with exposure to STBs, mobiles, and Smart TVs.
- Skilled in testing Cable & Satellite Set Top Boxes.
- Proficient in API testing using tools like POSTMAN.
- Knowledgeable about Headend systems and video management platforms such as Kaltura.
- Understanding of networking concepts, router/modem setup, multicasting, and bandwidth throttling.
- Familiar with media ingest processes, nPVR, Video on Demand, and EPG.
- Hands-on experience with IPTV configuration, installation, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of ABR streaming protocols (MPEG DASH, HLS, HDS), DRM, and CDN technologies.
- Ability to use tools like Wireshark, ADB, Fiddler, and Charles Proxy for network/application log analysis.
- Good to have: Android Debug Bridge, xCode for iOS, and experience in system integration testing with tools like Splunk.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and defect tracking systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Logical thinker with strong prioritisation skills and adaptability in a fast-changing environment.
- Ability to work effectively in multicultural teams.
- Education: Graduate in Computer Science or equivalent.
