About The Role

We are seeking a Cloud Practice Lead to design, build, implement, and operate hybrid cloud infrastructure that powers mission‑critical applications across Vodafone’s European markets. The individual will lead the development of scalable cloud platforms, drive cloud migrations and automation, and provide expert support across AWS, GCP, and Azure environments. This role involves managing complex integrations, supporting DevOps adoption, and transforming legacy systems into cloud‑ready and cloud‑native solutions.

What you’ll do

Manage project‑driven integration and day‑to‑day administration of cloud solutions across group datacentres.
• Develop prototypes, design and build cloud platform modules using agile methodologies to deliver optimal business outcomes.
• Conduct peer reviews and uphold coding standards.
• Lead automation and integration activities across AWS, GCP, Azure and multi‑tenant workloads.
• Build and deploy cloud infrastructure using CloudFormation and Terraform.
• Develop automation scripts using Ansible and Python for tasks such as user creation and security hardening.
• Migrate and transform on‑premises applications to public cloud platforms.
• Perform EC2, ECS, VPC and equivalent operations in AWS, GCP and Azure.
• Manage storage solutions including S3, EBS, Glacier and Google Cloud Storage.
• Deploy and resize compute instances in AWS, GCP and Azure.
• Manage ELBs, Elastic IPs and load‑balancing configurations across cloud environments.
• Design and deploy Direct Connect/ExpressRoute links between cloud and datacentre environments.
• Provide on‑call support for cloud infrastructure.
• Train and mentor teams on AWS, GCP and Azure.
• Troubleshoot connectivity, routing, security group issues and compute performance problems.
• Support DevOps culture enablement across the organisation.
• Provide consultancy on cloud‑related programmes and environments.
• Use extensive Kubernetes experience across EKS, GKE, Ingress, Istio, Terraform, containers and networking (CALICO, vxLAN, overlay).
• Deploy and manage applications using ArgoCD.

Who you are

• Deep expertise in cloud technologies, networking, security and platform engineering across AWS, GCP and Azure.
• Strong experience with AWS services such as VPC, EC2, ECS, S3, EBS, Glacier, ELB and Elastic IPs.
• Proficient with automation solutions including CloudFormation, Ansible, Python, Puppet, Chef and Salt.
• Skilled with DevOps tools such as CodePipeline, Terraform, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Demonstrable experience in setting up VPCs and configuring multi‑tenant AWS organisations.
• Hands‑on GCP expertise including IAM, roles, folder structures, serverless functions, SCC, Forseti and logging/monitoring.
• Experience with GSuite identity, domain management and LDAPS setup.
• Strong Azure AD experience with SSO, MFA, user/group delegation and SaaS integrations.
• Skilled in multiple languages including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, Ruby, SQL, XML, JSON, YAML and Python.
• Experience with AWS Lambda and Azure virtual networking, load balancing, application gateways, NSGs and resource policies.
• Skilled in Azure SQL recovery, data import/export and backup vault creation.
• Strong documentation and communication capabilities.
• Degree in IT with 3 years’ cloud experience or 5 years in enterprise IT.
• Knowledge of ITIL, SOX and security regulations.
• Experience with agile development, web applications, web hosting and DevOps concepts in cloud environments.
• Experience managing highly critical business environments.
• AWS architect/operations certification preferred.
• Telecom industry experience preferred.
