About this Role

As a Cloud FinOps Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in managing and optimising cloud financial operations across multiple platforms. This position involves working closely with technical and finance teams to ensure cost efficiency, transparency, and accountability in cloud usage. You will contribute to strategic decision-making while supporting operational excellence in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Who are you

You are an individual with strong analytical skills and a collaborative mindset. You have experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or FinOps, and possess a solid understanding of cloud financial concepts and pricing models. You are comfortable working independently, managing priorities, and influencing stakeholders across diverse teams.

What you’ll do

  • Implement and manage FinOps practices to optimise cloud costs across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Analyse cloud usage and billing data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with engineering and finance teams to align cloud spending with business objectives.
  • Develop dashboards and reports using data visualisation tools for cost transparency.
  • Automate processes for cost analysis and forecasting using scripting languages.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial governance in cloud environments.

What skills you need

  • Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS preferred).
  • Strong understanding of cloud pricing models, billing mechanisms, and cost levers (compute, storage, networking, commitments, discounts).
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (Microsoft Excel) and presentation software (PowerPoint).
  • Experience with data visualisation tools (Tableau, Power BI) and scripting languages (Python) for automation.
  • Knowledge of FinOps principles and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
