About this Role
As a Kubernetes Architect, you will be responsible for developing, building, implementing, and operating 24x7 Kubernetes solutions, primarily within AWS environments. This role supports European-wide internal Vodafone applications and customers, focusing on designing and implementing mission-critical infrastructure services. You will play a key role in transforming Vodafone’s legacy IT infrastructure into cloud-ready and cloud-native solutions, while also managing software-related operations support including level two and level three incident and problem management.

You are a cloud technology expert with a strong foundation in Kubernetes and AWS services. You bring a collaborative mindset, excellent documentation and communication skills, and a passion for automation and optimisation. You are experienced in cloud computing or enterprise IT and are committed to continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
What you will do
- Develop and operate Kubernetes solutions, especially EKS, within AWS.
- Design and implement AWS cloud infrastructure using Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Manage Kubernetes networking, DevOps, and lifecycle activities including autoscaling, secret management, and security.
- Onboard applications to Kubernetes using ArgoCD.
- Drive automation using CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and ArgoCD.
- Provide technical consultancy for migrating on-premises applications to public cloud.
- Support cloud-related programmes and environments.
- Design and deploy direct connect networks between AWS and data centres.
- Use Ansible and Python for routine tasks such as user management and security hardening.
- Conduct peer reviews and maintain coding standards.
- Train and mentor team members in AWS technologies.
- Troubleshoot cloud network, storage, and performance issues.
- Promote DevOps culture and methodologies across the organisation.
What skills you need
- Expertise in Kubernetes (EKS) and related AWS components.
- Strong understanding of AWS services: VPC, EC2, ECS, S3, EBS, ELB, Elastic IPs, Security Groups.
- Experience with Terraform, ArgoCD, AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeCommit.
- Familiarity with HashiCorp Stack, Packer, Bitbucket, Git.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools such as ELK, CloudWatch, and Datadog.
- Proficient in cloud technologies (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
- Degree in IT or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in cloud computing or 5 years in enterprise IT.
