About this Role

We are seeking an experienced OSS Engineer to design, develop, and optimise database solutions that ensure data integrity, performance, and scalability for applications. This role involves analysing and improving query performance, troubleshooting technical issues, and collaborating with development teams to integrate database logic. The position is based in Pune and requires strong SQL and PL/SQL expertise, along with familiarity with Agile methodologies and version control systems.

What you will do

  • Design and maintain efficient database schemas, tables, and relationships to support application requirements.
  • Optimise databases for performance and stability.
  • Monitor and resolve production and non-production issues promptly.
  • Investigate new technologies and present alternatives for architectural review.
  • Drive innovation and adoption of new tools, methods, and standards.
  • Collaborate with application developers to integrate database logic using basic Java code.

Who you are

  • Strong SQL and PL/SQL programming skills with experience in query optimisation and database design principles.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex database issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Skilled in developing PL/SQL packages, procedures, triggers, and functions for automation.
  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux scripting for automation and version control systems like Git.
  • Understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies; experience in Agile/SCRUM environments.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and ability to work in multicultural, distributed teams.
  • Engineering degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Analytical Server or reporting tools is an advantage.
  • Basic Java knowledge is desirable.
