About this Role

We are seeking an Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our Database team within VCI Operations. This role is based at our Pune office and is critical for managing and maintaining Oracle database environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. The position arises due to attrition and offers an opportunity to work on advanced Oracle technologies in a dynamic environment.

Who are you

  • An experienced Oracle DBA with a minimum of 4 years of hands-on expertise.
  • A collaborative individual with strong problem-solving skills and a positive attitude.
  • Excellent communicator with proficiency in both written and verbal English.
  • Adaptable and detail-oriented, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

What you’ll do

  • Administer Oracle standalone and RAC clustered environments (versions 11g, 12c, and 19c).
  • Perform installation, upgrades, cloning, patching, backup, and restore activities.
  • Implement advanced configurations including RAC, ASM, RMAN, and Data Guard/Disaster Recovery.
  • Provide daily backup and recovery services and manage data pump for production databases.
  • Deliver on-call support for mission-critical production databases, including performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Execute Oracle partitioning and GoldenGate implementations.
  • Conduct hot/cold backups and database migrations between servers.
  • Support and document approved changes to system configurations and infrastructure.
  • Work with UNIX systems, shell scripting, and kernel parameter tuning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure database stability and security.

What skills you need

  • Minimum 4 years of experience as an Oracle DBA.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle RAC, ASM, RMAN, and Data Guard.
  • Expertise in database patching, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with GoldenGate and UNIX shell scripting.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach.
  • Knowledge of Exadata is an added advantage.
