About this Role

As a Senior Engineer in the Data Centre Network Service Design team, you will be responsible for leading the design of network services across Vodafone’s data centre infrastructure. This role is part of a centralised team within Vodafone Technology, focused on delivering high-performance, secure, and scalable network solutions. You will collaborate with subject matter experts, architects, project managers, and infrastructure services to ensure alignment with Vodafone’s strategic goals and policies.

You are a skilled network design professional with a strong background in data centre technologies and cloud migration. You bring a collaborative mindset, clear communication, and a solution-oriented approach to complex challenges. You are passionate about designing innovative network solutions that support business growth and transformation.

What you will do

  • Develop high-level design (HLD) documentation for network service solutions.
  • Analyse service requirements to create optimised, high-performance network designs.
  • Lead migration of services from legacy environments to SD-WAN, ACI, NSX, and private cloud platforms, adhering to Vodafone’s security zoning and routing standards.
  • Forecast future performance, availability, and capacity needs based on business plans and usage trends.
  • Deliver impactful presentations in internal and global client forums.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support service restoration and ensure seamless connectivity.
  • Manage prioritisation and optimal utilisation of design resources.
  • Oversee data centre network project designs and provide timely updates.
  • Communicate solution strategies and product offerings effectively while designing innovative solutions.

What skills you need

  • Proven experience in data centre build, consolidation, and migration to public cloud platforms.
  • Expertise in SDN technologies including SD-WAN (Cisco Viptela), Cisco ACI, VMware NSX.
  • Proficiency in network automation using Python, Terraform, and Ansible.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus data centre devices.
  • Strong knowledge of switching (FabricPath), routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, BFD), segment routing, Ethernet, VXLAN.
  • Familiarity with private and public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
