About this Role
We are seeking a seasoned Data Warehouse & BI Engineer to lead the Application Operations (AO) Engineering team within VSS IT. This role is pivotal in managing L2 services, driving operational excellence, and ensuring readiness for upgrades and new functionalities. The individual will act as a technical SME, manage stakeholders, and contribute to IT transformation initiatives. The position demands strong expertise in ETL, BI, cloud technologies, and telecom domain processes, with a focus on automation, performance improvement, and governance.
What You Will Do
- Lead AO Engineering team and manage key stakeholders across TSS and customer groups
- Drive project planning and execution for operational readiness, upgrades, and new functionalities
- Provide technical SME support across service lines, including ETL (Informatica, Talend), PL/SQL, and cloud platforms
- Perform L2 support activities: incident management, problem resolution, configuration changes, health checks, and triage
- Analyse operational data to improve KPIs and identify automation opportunities
- Manage vendor and customer relationships, ensuring governance and compliance
- Participate in IT transformation projects and cross-functional business process articulation
- Lead WAR ROOM communications and major issue investigations
- Conduct capacity planning, hardware assessments, and roadmap creation
- Support deployment, configuration management, and ensure platform scalability and stability
Build DWH/EDW and BI capabilities within AO Engineering
Who you are
- 10–15 years of experience in application operations, database, ETL, and BI within the telecom domain
- Strong hands-on expertise in UNIX, PL/SQL, Informatica, Talend, ELK stack (Kibana/Grafana), and cloud technologies
- Proven experience in project/programme management and stakeholder engagement
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in engineering or business; MCA preferred
- Deep understanding of telecom BSS/OSS processes and data warehousing concepts
- Skilled in scripting (Shell, Python), query tuning, and deployment management
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive service improvements
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
